Greetings!
At the Point Loma High School 2015 Awards Ceremony in June, where we awarded four graduates $750 scholarships, we floated a new idea with the school, alumni association, and graduates. One of the challenges of going away to college is the transition to a new environment, and not having many local connections whom you can turn to for advice.
What about if you were introduced to PLHS graduates who had gone to that college (or perhaps were currently going there) who were interested in helping you out? We're going to see if we can recruit PLHS graduates, who have attended colleges where the 2015 PLHS graduates are attending, and see if they are willing to offer their support.
We're calling it the Pointer Brothers Friends Program, and we'll be using some online social media tools to reach out in the next two months. We'll post an update here with our progress.
